Soft gelatin capsules for oil-soluble actives that do not survive a tablet — Omega-3, Vitamin D3, Vitamin E and herbal oil extracts. From 3,000 units per SKU, with oxidation testing on every batch.
EPA and DHA concentrates in soft gels, with peroxide and anisidine testing on every batch — the tests that catch rancidity before it reaches a customer's mouth.
Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, Vitamin A and K2-7 in oil carriers, where a dry dosage form would compromise absorption or stability.
Oil-based botanical extracts — evening primrose, flaxseed, garlic and similar — where the active is only stable and bioavailable in an oil matrix.
Most manufacturers make you email before they will tell you their minimum. Here is ours, so you can judge fit before you spend a call on it.
| Formulation | MOQ per SKU |
|---|---|
| Existing formulation | 3,000 units |
| New / custom formulation | 10,000 units |
An existing formulation is one already in our range or a standard formula we can produce without development work. A new formulation needs development and validation, so the run has to cover it. Packaging print runs carry their own minimums and are confirmed separately. Unit pricing depends on actives, pack and batch size, so we quote it in writing at the feasibility stage rather than publishing a figure we would have to caveat into uselessness. See the full MOQ table for every dosage form.
| Shell | Gelatin shell with plasticiser; shell colour and opacity to your specification, including light-blocking shells for oxidation-sensitive oils |
|---|---|
| Shapes | Oval, oblong and round; sizes chosen by fill volume |
| Fill | Oils, oil suspensions and self-emulsifying systems |
| Packs | Alu-Alu blisters and HDPE bottles with induction seal — both chosen to limit oxygen ingress |
| Typical products | Omega-3 fish oil, Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, cod liver oil, evening primrose oil |
Every batch is released against a written specification and shipped with a Certificate of Analysis listing each test, its limit and the actual result.
| Test | What it confirms |
|---|---|
| Description & seam quality | Shell colour, shape and seal integrity |
| Fill weight & variation | Each capsule carries the intended volume of oil |
| Leak test | No seam failure — the defect that ruins a whole pack in transit |
| Peroxide value | Primary oxidation. The single most important test for any fish or vegetable oil |
| Anisidine value | Secondary oxidation, which peroxide value alone can miss in an older oil |
| Assay of actives | EPA/DHA content, or vitamin content, against label claim |
| Disintegration / rupture | The shell opens and releases within the specified time |
| Heavy metals | Lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury — mandatory diligence for marine oils |
3,000 capsules per SKU for an existing formulation and 10,000 for a new one — the same as our tablets and capsules. This is worth stating plainly because soft gels usually carry higher minimums than other dosage forms across the Indian market.
Peroxide value and anisidine value on every batch, both reported on the Certificate of Analysis. Peroxide value alone is not sufficient — it can read low on an oil that has already moved past primary oxidation, which is why the anisidine value matters. Ask any supplier for both.
Standard soft gel shells are gelatin-based. Tell us at the brief stage if a vegetarian shell is required and we will confirm feasibility and cost for your specific fill before you commit — rather than quoting first and qualifying later.
Anything oil-soluble or oily: Omega-3, Vitamins A, D, E and K, and oil-based botanical extracts. These are poorly absorbed or unstable in a dry dosage form. If your active is water-soluble, a tablet or capsule is usually cheaper and just as effective.
